4 St. Jude pupils to miss PLE

By Faustine Odeke in Malaba

Four primary seven candidates of St. Jude Primary School, Malaba may miss their final examinations due Nov. 2-4.

Oriyoi P.S headmaster, Samuel Mutambo whose school shares exams centre with St. Jude PS told The Monitor recently that only ten out of 14 St. Jude PS candidates had been registered.

He said the candidates were supposed to have filled Form X by Oct. 27 but St. Jude PS headmaster, Emmanuel Emerikwa had not submitted the forms by Oct. 28.

When The Monitor talked to the candidates, Oct. 28, they said the headmaster asked them to pay Shs 2,000 each for passport size photographs as part of the pre-requisites to registration for the examinations but they have since not been photographed.

"We came to school twice ready to go to Oriyoi [PS] to fill the forms but we have been bounced, and when we demanded to know where our money for photographs were, the deputy headmaster, Samuel Ekalet caned us without explanation," complained a candidate.

Two angry candidates reportedly pelted Emerikwa with stones over the issue.
