Man undresses before daughter-in-law, caned

A man who undressed before his daughter-in-law was on July 3, given 12 strokes of the cane and fined a sheep and a cock by a joint clan and area LC1 Court.
Desterio Omollo, of Nyangole village, Rubongi in Tororo district, allegedly stripped naked before his daughter-in-law, Justine Auma, wife to his only son Peter Ochieng on June 30 following a quarrel over food.
Omollo, who is a widower accused Auma of denying him food.
The 12 strokes of the cane were given to him on the spot and the sheep and cock were used in rituals to cleanse the family of the abomination.
Area residents and LCs told The Monitor, Omollo's family is very chaotic.
