Doctor Jailed for Raping His Patient

A Nairobi doctor was sentenced to five years in prison and five strokes of the cane for raping a 70-year-old woman.

Namendwa Kuboka Leech, aged 43, was sentenced by Makadara Chief Magistrate, Mr Muga Apondi, when he was found guilty of raping his patient on August 11 last year at Eastlands shopping centre in Nairobi.

Leech had been accused that in August last year at his place of work, he had carnal knowledge of the woman. On the second count, he had been accused of indecently assaulting the woman by touching her private parts.
