Boy stuns court
A 15-year-old schoolboy stunned a Kadoma magistrate's court when he claimed he was "playing" when he sodomised a 10-year-old boy.
The boy and his victim both cannot be named as they are minors.
The accused pleaded guilty to sodomy when he recently appeared before Kadoma Magistrate Mr Ross Chavi.
After telling the court that he had been "playing" when he committed the crime, the magistrate ordered that he be punished by receiving four strokes of a rattan cane at the Kadoma reformatory.
Prosecutor Ms Yvonne Motsi told the court that on the December 31 last year at around 2pm, the complainant was at a cows' grazing pasture when he was dragged into the bush by the accused.
The 15-year-old boy sodomised him and then released him. The victim ran home and told his guardians what had happened. They in turn made a police report that led to the arrest of the accused.
The complainant was taken to Kadoma Hospital for examination and the medical affidavit confirmed that he had been sodomised.
