A 2-minute local TV item from Chichicastenango, Guatemala, known for its traditional Mayan culture. At a public ceremony in 2007, several young offenders receive a whipping on the bare back. There is no JCP in Guatemala's national penal code, but local tribes are allowed to carry out their own traditional punishments.

This 90-second film is a TV news report from 2013 showing men publicly whipped in Guatemala. The punishment is again applied to the upper back, but this time they were allowed to keep a T-shirt on, not that that would make very much difference to the pain.
